SPARC research shows that about half of youth in New Zealand don’t play any sport. Of those who participate in sport, a third drop out between the ages of 13 and 17 years.

The AMP’d programme has been developed to encourage these youth to become more active and engaged in sport and physical recreation. The programme looks to develop youths’ skill and interest in sport and recreation, proactively encourage them to join sports clubs and provide the opportunity to develop their leadership skills.
