  The council supports the Foundation because it was created to positively influence the lives of young people by providing affordable sports and recreation choices. It'll promote character development, life enhancing values, good health and community cohesion. The council believes that this important initiative will engender a sense of pride and loyalty and belonging to the city, and enhance our developing reputation as one of New Zealand's most dynamic and liveable cities.

  The Southern Trust

  The Southern Trust was introduced to the concept of Find Your Field of Dreams in April 2008, and immediately saw the community benefit in supporting it. We all read the papers and listen to the news and so have a small insight into some of the issues the local community is facing with its young people.
  
  We believe that this project is going to prove invaluable in ensuring that young people in the area can engage in innovative and interesting activities. We believe the John Walker 'Find Your Field of Dreams' Foundation will work well in the Counties Manukau area and will encourage and empower youth to use their time more constructively while having fun with their peers.

  Progressive Enterprises owns and operates Foodtown, Woolworths and Countdown supermarkets. Our grocery stores operate throughout the country and are visited by over 2.5 million kiwis every week. In addition, we also operate 22 Woolworths Quickstop and Micro Convenience stores, several meat processing plants and distribution centres, and we are the franchise coordinator for FreshChoice and SuperValue stores.
  
  At Progressive, we believe that one of the best ways of contributing to the growth and development of NZ is by supporting our children’s health.   NZCT

  New Zealand Community Trust (NZCT) are delighted to fund the John Walker 'Find Your Field of Dreams' Foundation. The Foundation is an excellent example of the positive outcomes made to the community by NZCT. In the past year alone, we distributed over $42 million to sports and community groups.
